The smoking ban is the beginning and end

I have had some time away from blogging. My husband had a heart attack.  But I have been watching what is going on in the vaping world.  I saw the people who were standing outside in the rain and the wind having a smoke outside the doors of the hospital.  I thought to myself that it would be great if those people simply switched to vaping.  I just vaped in the hospital  - inside.  STEALTH vaped that is.  The mammoth problem with vapers is that we are inextricably linked to smokers. Vaping is banned where smoking is banned. The single most important problem is the smoking ban.  The smoking ban is not logical. The smoking ban is not anything to do with health. The smoking ban is a method of persecution against one quarter of the population of our country.  This law needs to be reassessed. Smoking rooms or protected areas for smokers should be enforced. Smoking in open places cannot be banned for any reason, especially if the motive is persecution against one quarter of the population that sets people one against the other, that causes deep social division, loneliness and suffering. This cannot be legal.

Until the anti smoking industry is put in its place, there will be the same persecution against vapers.

The smoking ban is the beginning and the end of it.

Every vapour that trashes smoking is shooting themselves in the foot Every vaper that supports the anti smoking industry is shooting themselves in the foot.  Smoking or vaping is a personal choice under threat from tyrannical legislation.

I am curious as to which part Liz does not get. Enlighten us.

  2. Anon. Liz certainly gets it. You on the other hand don't. The antismokers are desperately trying to denormalise smokers and don't want vapers to even appear to be smoking. People like you will be the cause of vapers being forced out into the cold and wet as well.

    1. Thank you sir! The point I thought I was disseminating is the idea that the smoking ban needs to be challenged. Even non smokers feel it is simply vindictive insanity forced on society by a small group using questionable "science" and blatant societal brainwashing to achieve their ends and secure their future employment. In fact, in my lifetime, it has been so dispicable to watch, that my words fail me.

  3. Interesting perspective. Many hospitals -- at least in my neck of the woods -- have adapted a no smoking rule on their facilities because they are privately owned businesses so it's interesting to read that people are still huddled outside for their smoke.

so it is to me. We don't "huddle". We smoke/vape openly. No huddling needed.

Well, in my experience any group of people standing outside in the cold/rain/wind in this country "huddle". I even see people walking their dogs past my house "huddled". And they aren't even smokers! I'm sick of huddling - all it's done for days and days here, is rain! And wind. Vaping outside in that weather is as unsatisfying as smoking. So I suppose "huddling" depends on the weather. The word doesn't worry me as most of the time in the UK, huddling is the only thing we do whether we smoke, vape or don't do either. ha ha

  4. John: Only private fee paying hospitals are private business. Even so, it is perfectly legal to smoke or vape in the open air outside anywhere. The only thing they can rail against is the litter element. I stood outside a hospital (away from the entrance I may add) to smoke whilst a 'security' man, complete with ID and uniform stood around waiting for me to drop the cig. I didn't. There was nothing he could do. Don't be mislead. If they could 'prosecute' for it, they would have done so by now.

  5. Fact: Smoking OUTSIDE in HOSPITAL GROUNDS is perfectly legal. When I take the little old lady for check ups I make sure I discard my used cigarette in the for this provided outdoor ashtray.
Funnily enough, the vapers are putting their e-cig into their pocket, Nevertheless, they have to go OUTSIDE to use their e-cig. (And I thought it was this "oh-so-dangerous-passive-smoke" that was the worry ........... - ??????????)
